BOARD MEETINGS
Jefferson Academy follows the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act and all meetings are open to the public. Meetings may be scheduled for the second Monday for the established months based on the tentative meetings schedule and meeting information is posted at least twenty-four hours in advance on the Utah Public Notice Website, along with previous meeting minutes and recordings.
POLICY GOVERNANCE
The Jefferson Academy Board of Directors has adopted the Policy Governance Model. By governing under this model, the Board avoids micro-managing the work and activities of the school. Accountability is measured using objective data, progress reports, and focused discussions.

FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT
The Governing Board oversees the financial health of the school and reviews budgets regularly. Monthly budget reports are available by request. All budgets are approved by the Board and publicly posted on the Utah Public Finance Website. The Board Audit Committee is comprised of the Board President and the Board Financial Coordinator.
In accordance with utah Code Ann. Section 53G-7-309, the governing board receives a budget report each month. This budget report includes the following information: (i) the amounts of all budget appropriations, (ii) the disbursements from the appropriations as of the date of the report; and (iii) the percentage of the disbursements as of the date of the report. The current budget report is available for public review and previous reports are available by request to njones@jeffersonacademy.org.
Stakeholders of Jefferson Academy may report concerns of fraud, waste, abuse, or non-compliance directly to the School’s administration or board. Alternatively, stakeholders may report such concerns directly to the Utah State Board of Education through their Public Education Hotline at (801) 538-7813. BOARD MEMBERS
The Jefferson Academy Board of Directors is a non-profit governing body made up of caring and experienced parents and community members established to oversee the implementation of the school charter as approved by the Utah State Office of Education.

KEITH FACER, Board Chair, believes in the foundation of the Core Knowledge Sequence, which is why his children attended Jefferson Academy. As an attorney, he has had the opportunity to sharpen his understanding of issues impacting business and education.

ALANA WILSON, Vice Chair, has a degree in Psychology with a background in retail management. She chose Jefferson because of Core Knowledge, small classes, and leveled learning. She supports taking an active role in education and is happy to serve on the

NATALIE ALLMAN, Finance Officer, loves being involved in the community and has a strong passion for education. She has a degree in education and worked as a high school math teacher. She looks forward to serving where her child loves learning every day.
